Smt. Sushma Yechuri is an accomplished Kuchipudi classical dancer, teacher, and founder of Kalamandapam Kuchipudi dance school in Seattle. She has been learning this beautiful art form since the age of 7, receiving her training from Guru Smt. P. Rajeswari at Warangal, India. Rajeswari Garu is a direct student of the founding father of Kuchipudi art - Sri. Padma Bhushan Vempati Chinna Satyam Garu, and is the child of Telugu film industry veteran actor Late. Sri Padmanabham . With over 17 years of experience performing at ballets and shows in the USA, Smt. Yechuri has established herself as a renowned local talent. She has been teaching this art form for the past 12 years and is very passionate about training the next generation of dancers. Her Kalamandapam Kuchipudi dance school began with a humble beginning of 3 students, and she has since taught many students over the years.

Youth Instructors

Anika Yechuri has been dedicated to the art of Kuchipudi for over 17 years, earning accolades for her performances across the USA and India, including at prestigious events like the Silicon Andhra International Kuchipudi Convention. She completed her rangapravesam in 2018, marking her as one of the senior students at Kalamandapam Kuchipudi Dance School.

As the lead choreographer and captain of Natya UW at the University of Washington, Anika has created innovative pieces that blend traditional Kuchipudi with contemporary elements, earning recognition at competitions and cultural showcases. Her leadership and creativity have made her a standout performer and choreographer.

Currently pursuing a degree in Human Centered Design & Engineering at the University of Washington, Anika brings her technical and creative skills to teaching younger dancers. Known for her thoughtful, precise instruction, she is a dedicated mentor who combines strong technique with artistic expression, inspiring the next generation of Kuchipudi artists.

Nithika Yechuri has been learning Kuchipudi for over 12 years under the guidance of her mother and guru at Kalamandapam Kuchipudi Dance School. Starting her journey at the age of four, she quickly developed a deep connection with this classical dance form. In 2018, after completing her rangapravesam, she officially joined the faculty at Kalamandapam.

As a senior student and young teacher, Nithika is passionate about sharing her knowledge with new dancers. She actively assists in choreography, mentors younger students, and plays a key role in organizing school performances. Her creativity and attention to the finer details of Kuchipudi have led her to collaborate in choreographing new dance ballets that blend tradition with fresh ideas.

Nithika is currently a freshman pursuing Informatics at University of Washington, Seattle and is the lead choreographer for "Natya UW" representing the university.
